The Blackwing7 77-X is a large-format cinema prime with intentionally engineered, tunable distortion rather than a design optimized purely for clinical sharpness — TRIBE7 draws a direct comparison to EQ adjustment in music production, shaping specific character parameters like roll-off, spherical aberration, and flare instead of eliminating them. Compared to the 77-T in the same range, the 77-X has lower central contrast and a stronger, more diffused resonant flare, giving it a soft, flattering look particularly suited to medium-format portraiture. It's one of nine focal lengths in the Blackwing7 range, all configurable and customizable at the point of manufacture.
