Description
The Middle Things Fiber Camera Box 12G collapses a camera's SDI input and return-feed cables into a single fiber run, cutting down on cable weight and interference on multi-camera SDI shoots. It mounts directly on the camera body and is built for operators who need a clean return feed from the control room alongside their main SDI output. Because it runs on fiber rather than copper, distance and electromagnetic interference stop being a limiting factor on long cable runs.
- Combines SDI in and out on one fiber: Merges a 12G SDI input and output into a single cable via a Neutrik OpticalCon Duo connector.
- Supports up to 2160p60: Handles 3G, 6G, and 12G SDI signals for full 4K60 workflows.
- Blackmagic Camera Control & Talkback compatible: Works directly with URSA Broadcast, URSA Mini, and Studio Camera 4K Pro control protocols.
- Camera-powered operation: Includes a D-Tap to 12V barrel cable so the converter runs off the camera's own battery.
- Automatic fiber shutter: The OpticalCon Duo connector's built-in shutter protects fiber cores whenever the cable is disconnected.
