The Explore Scientific 68° Series 16mm Waterproof Eyepiece is an extreme wide-field ocular built with low-dispersion, high-refractive-index glass and multilayer coatings for a 68-degree apparent field of view.
- Focal Length & Field: 16mm focal length with a 68° apparent field of view and long eye relief.
- Parfocal Design: Parfocal with the rest of the 68° Series, meaning it holds focus at nearly the same point when you swap focal lengths.
- Argon-Purged Waterproofing: Sealed and Argon-purged rather than nitrogen-purged; Argon's larger atomic radius and greater inertness make it less prone to leaking through seals over the eyepiece's life, and every unit is tested submerged in one meter of water for 30 minutes.
- Eyecup: Removable, foldable soft silicone rubber eyecup for observer comfort during extended sessions.
- Size & Weight: Measures 61.9mm long by 43.2mm wide and weighs 5.5 oz (158g), with a 1.25" barrel.
