The Blackmagic Mini Converter Optical Fiber 12G converts SDI to optical fiber and back in both directions simultaneously, letting broadcasters place cameras up to 10 miles from their switchers, routers, or decks using inexpensive fiber cable instead of copper SDI runs. It's aimed at large venues like stadiums, concerts, and theatrical productions where camera positions are too far from the truck for standard SDI cable. Because its 12G-SDI connections are multi-rate and auto-detect the signal, the same converter works across SD, HD, and Ultra HD equipment without manual configuration.
