Description
The Blackmagic Design HyperDeck Extreme 4K HDR is a broadcast deck built for recording and playback in demanding live production, archiving, and digital signage environments. It's aimed at broadcasters and post facilities who need a reliable master recorder that can also handle legacy tape archiving and modern HDR workflows in one unit. Its H.265 recording keeps 4K files small enough for long unattended recordings on standard CFast media.
- Records H.265 and ProRes up to 2160p60: Records and plays back H.265 and ProRes 422 HQ/422/422LT files across SD, HD, and Ultra HD standards up to 2160p60.
- Dual CFast Media Slots: Two CFast card slots allow hot-swapping full cards for effectively unlimited-length recording; a 1TB card holds over 9,446 minutes of 1080p59.94 H.265.
- Optional Media Cache: An installable PCIe flash disk cache eliminates dropped frames if media fills or runs too slow.
- Multi-Rate 12G-SDI, HDMI, and Analog: Multi-rate 12G-SDI and HDMI connections handle SD through Ultra HD, plus balanced analog and HiFi audio inputs for archiving legacy tape decks.
- Built-In Waveform, Vectorscope, and Histogram: Internal scopes verify broadcast-standard compliance on input or playback signal.
- 10G Ethernet for Fast Remote Upload: Uploads over 10G Ethernet via FTP, faster than transferring off a CFast card.
