The EtherWAN EL100 Series Media Converter bridges 10/100BASE-T(X) copper Ethernet to 100BASE-FX fiber, built for network installers extending Ethernet runs beyond copper's distance limits. DIP switches let an installer choose store-and-forward or converter mode and enable or disable Link-Fault-Pass-Through, so link failures on one side get reported to the connected device instead of failing silently. It mounts to a wall on its own or into EtherWAN's EMC1600 chassis for group installations with redundant power.
- Copper-to-fiber conversion: Converts between 10/100BASE-T(X) copper Ethernet and 100BASE-FX fiber, with SC or ST connector options.
- DIP switch configuration: Selects between store-and-forward and converter mode, and enables or disables Link-Fault-Pass-Through (LFPT), without special software.
- Link failure notification: When LFPT is enabled, a link failure on one side is passed through to notify the connected device and disable the connection.
- Flexible duplex settings: Full-duplex or half-duplex can be independently enabled or disabled on both the Ethernet port and the fiber port.
- Group installation ready: Mounts to a wall individually or into EtherWAN's EMC1600 chassis system for group installation with power redundancy.
