Description
The EtherWAN EX78900E is a hardened, DIN-rail mounted Gigabit PoE switch built for the same demanding infrastructure jobs as EtherWAN's other rugged switches — outdoor PTZ cameras, wireless access points, and way-side communication devices that need power and network in one harsh-environment box. Its 60W-per-port PoE budget covers higher-draw powered devices than a standard PoE switch, and its long-distance PoE mode stretches installation range well past the usual 100-meter Ethernet limit. It's built for integrators who need enterprise-grade management features in a switch that will survive outdoor extremes.
- High-power PoE: Delivers up to 60W per port with a 240W total power budget, supporting outdoor PTZ cameras, PoE LED lighting, and wireless access points.
- Extended PoE range: A long-distance PoE mode extends installation distance up to 820 feet, and a PoE watchdog automatically power-cycles ports when a connected device stops responding.
- Layer 3 routing and redundancy: Supports static routes, RIP v1/v2, OSPF, and VRRP for network redundancy.
- Port density: 8 or 12 Gigabit PoE ports combined with up to 4 dual-rate Gigabit SFP ports for fiber uplinks.
- Enterprise management: RADIUS and TACACS+ remote authentication, port security, IGMP snooping, port-based VLANs, and access control lists.
- Hardened for harsh environments: Rated to operate from -40°C to 75°C where high ESD, shock, and vibration are present.
