The Explore Scientific 3-inch Self-Centering Focuser (ES-FOC3) is a heavy-duty focuser built for astrophotographers running larger imaging trains that need a stable, flex-free connection. Its self-centering compression system and helical rack-and-pinion drive are designed to eliminate the tilt and image shift that lighter focusers struggle with under load.
- 17 lb Lifting Capacity: Locking clutch system supports up to 17 lbs of imaging equipment.
- Self-Centering Compression System: Applies pressure evenly to the draw tube for a tight, flex-free fit that prevents image shift.
- 9:1 Helical Rack & Pinion: Stainless-steel ball bearings and shaft, lubricated with marine-grade PTFE silicone, give precise focus with minimal backlash.
- 84.5mm Draw Tube Travel: Long enough travel to eliminate the need for extension tubes.
- 14 Internal Baffles: The 3-inch draw tube interior is baffled to reduce internal reflections.
