The Explorer EX-L Epic Explorer is a large ball head built around a hollowed-out body and ball socket, aimed at shooters who need 30kg of load capacity for big telephoto lenses without carrying the weight a solid-body head of that capacity usually requires. At just 402g, it's light enough to travel with while still rated for far more weight than its size suggests. An ARCA/RRS-compatible quick release clamp with an extra-large release lock means the camera doesn't get in the way when releasing it from the plate.
