Key Features

Description

The FieldCast Mux Three and its companion Demux Three transport sixteen independent channels of 3G SDI video, plus an Ethernet connection, over a single strand of single-mode fiber. It's built for live event and broadcast setups where running sixteen separate SDI cables isn't practical, whether because fiber runs are limited or a production wants to minimize cabling in the field. Because the signal is preserved unchanged end to end, it fits directly into existing SDI-based workflows without transcoding.

  • 16-channel 3G SDI multiplexing: Combines sixteen independent 3G (2.97GHz) SDI channels plus Ethernet onto one single-mode fiber strand.
  • SMPTE compliant: Meets SMPTE 259M, 344M, 292M, and 424M, accepting all SD and HD standards up to 1080p60.
  • Lossless signal path: No processing is applied to the SDI signal, so what goes in comes out unchanged.
  • CWDM multiplexing technology: Robust thin-film wavelength-division multiplexing carries all sixteen channels over the maximum rated fiber distance.
  • 1RU all-aluminum enclosure: Compact rack-mount design with LED indicators for power, per-channel activity, and SDI signal presence.
