Hawke built this monocular specifically for marine and boating use, part of their Endurance ED line that's been a mainstay for over a decade. At 7x magnification with a 42mm objective, it's sized for stable handheld viewing on a moving deck rather than long-range land observation, and it's nitrogen-purged and fully waterproof so spray and humidity aren't a concern. BAK-4 roof prisms keep the housing compact compared to older porro-prism designs, and a floating wrist strap means a drop overboard doesn't mean a lost monocular.
