This hard-edged graduated ND has a sudden transition from dense to clear, built for scenes with a sharp, unbroken horizon line like an open seascape rather than a landscape with trees or buildings crossing the skyline. At 2 stops (0.6 density), it's a lighter-touch option than NiSi's stronger hard-edged GNDs, suited to a more moderate brightness difference between foreground and sky. NiSi cautions against using hard-edged GNDs where elements protrude above the horizon, since those elements will appear unnaturally dark above the transition line.
