About this filter: The Urth Night is a light pollution filter for astrophotography and night city work. Its neodymium optical glass absorbs the yellow-orange glow thrown off by sodium-vapor street lights and other artificial lighting, so night skies come out with truer color, better star contrast, and far less muddy orange cast — straight out of camera instead of fought in post.
Unlike an ND filter it is not meant to darken your exposure; it targets specific wavelengths while passing the rest. The 20-layer nano-coating keeps reflections low and sheds water, oil, and fingerprints, and the ultra-slim aluminum frame resists vignetting on wide lenses. Screws onto any lens with 67mm front threads.
