Despite the product name citing 40Gbps, this is VigilLink's 48Gbps HDMI eARC-to-amplifier adapter, built to extract audio from an HDMI source or an ARC/eARC-enabled TV and route it to an older AV receiver that doesn't support eARC directly. It's HDMI 2.1 and HDCP 2.3 compliant, passing UHDTV resolutions up to 8K@60Hz through untouched while pulling out audio formats up to Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. CEC pass-through means your TV remote still controls both the source device and the amplifier's volume.
